Renault Clio 1.4 GrA ‘Rallys’ to Success

3 Apr, 2007

Following the successful premier season and win in Parallel Rally Cross in 2006, in 2007 Clio 1.4 GrA with driver Matej Gruding and co-driver Teodor Horvat is also competing in Rally, the most challenging discipline in motor sports.
On the weekend 30/31 March 2007 the V-Racing Clio Team took part in the first Rally for the 2007 Slovenian National Championship held in Wolfsberg, Austria. The total length of the course was 430 km and featured no less than 188 km of special stages on extremely narrow, winding, wet and, for the most part, very muddy roads. In their maiden race the team did extremely well and in the competition of 19 drivers in the category up to 1400 ccm finished excellent third, posting their first podium finish of the season. The success is that much more motivating as it was only a second rally of driver Matej’s career and the first competitive race ever for co-driver Teodor. Despite the fact that the Rally proved extremely challenging and strenuous both for the crew and the car (power steering failure shortly after the start of the race), they nevertheless made it to the finish line, celebrating this great result with the rest of the team.
The next Rally will take place on the outskirts of Zagreb, Croatia, on 25 and 26 May.
